Aquaprase is a rare, blue-green, semi-transparent to translucent, variety of chalcedony that was discovered in 2013 by Greek gem explorer Yianni Melas, and is the first new gemstone discovered in the 21st century.
It can range in colour from blue to green, and sometimes contains brown and black inclusions.
Each stone is unique, with different colours, patterns, and transparency levels.
Aquaprase has a rating of 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale, which makes it ideal for use in jewelry, such as rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, and often set alongside diamonds.
The name Aquaprase comes from the Greek word prase, which means green, and the word aqua, which refers to the blue sea.
Each necklace comes beautifully gift wrapped, in one of our standard presentation boxes.
For that extra touch of luxury, why not choose one of our solid wood boxes, which can be engraved with a message, to make the gift even more special.
